The seam is then TIG welded, either by hand or by robotic welding. Hydroforming allows a muffler body to be made without multiple sections, such as main canister and tips. This glasspack muffler body was formed at the Corsa factory starting with a piece of straight tubing, using high water pressure with the straight pipe captured inside a die. I'll show you how I installed the 2.5' diameter, 30' Cherry Bomb Glasspack without the use of a welder.

The inlets are 2.5' inside diameter, inside the muffler body the core tapers to 2.25. I dont have a weight of just the muffler but including the packing material it weights 10 lbs.

Magnaflow Muffler

The original muffler on my 1991 7.3 IDI gave out. Ordered this up and man does it liven the exhaust up. Deep tone through-out the rpm range. If there was a way to up load a pic I would be happy to show you it on the truck.
